Description: 15 August 1947, the date any Indian can hardly forget, the day of freedom, the day that bought hope, the day that made India independent seventy-five (75) years ago is celebrated with the same hope, enthusiasm, happiness, and patriotism. Independence Day activities play an integral part in the learning and understanding of the children about the history and culture of their country. Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at Lucknow Public School. The school decorated with tricolor saffron, white and green balloons and flags welcomed the eyes of all to the function.To commemorate the sovereignty of our Nation, The Principal unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem followed by the National Song by teachers and expressed the joy of our freedom. Ojasvi Singh, the head girl took us down the memory lane when she spoke on the freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, and Subhash Chandra Bose etc who played an important role in Indian independence. It was followed by the golden words of Jyotsna Mam which filled the students with patriotism. Then the students of classes 3-5 performed PT Display followed by a very mesmerizing dance performance by class Nursery students. In addition to it shining stars of classes 3-5 performed Aerobics and it was a commendable performance. After this tiny tots of class KG performed a beautiful dance followed by a Rajasthani dance by class 1 students. A Punjabi Dance was performed by the students of class 2 which looked awesome. Last but not the least the Sports Captain reminded us with our duties by Udghosh. The program culminated with Vote of Thanks. At the end sweets were distributed to the students. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and Unity in Diversity.
